Who? Columnist Doug Brendel, “The Outsidah,” presents his 3rd annual “Only in Ipswich” book, Ipswich Unzipped, in a series of humorous speaking engagements

A Little More:

“The Outsidah” is coming your way.

It’s Ipswich Chronicle humorist Doug Brendel, whose humorous weekly columns have had North Shore residents laughing at themselves for years.

“The Outsidah” comments on life in small-town New England from the standpoint of a newcomer.

Doug releases a book each year, compiling the year’s columns and illustrating them with what he calls “terrible cartoons.”

He will appear in a series of December events to perform pieces from his latest book, Ipswich Unzipped. All three books in the series will be available for purchase and autographs at the events.

  • Monday, December 2, at 7 p.m.: Nichols Village, Groveland (54 Main St.)
  • Tuesday, December 10, at 12:30 p.m.: Ipswich Senior Center (25 Green St.)
  • Wednesday, December 11, at 7:30 p.m.: Ipswich Public Library (25 Main St.)
  • Friday, December 13, at 7 p.m.: “An Outsidah Christmas” at the Ipswich Inn (2 East St.) — ticketed event
  • Wednesday, December 18, at 7 p.m.: Georgetown Public Library (2 Maple St.)
